FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
What is the maximum capacity of the Plug-In battery?
The master battery has a capacity of 60Ah/2112Wh, which translates to approximately 2.1 kWh. Each expansion unit provides an additional 2.1 kWh, and you can expand the battery to a total of 10.5 kWh (master + 4 expansion units).
Can I order multiple master batteries?
To effectively manage multiple master batteries, you need multiplesmart meters(not P1 meters) within your household or building. Each battery communicates with a unique P1 meter, which must also be connected to a unique smart meter, so the battery knows exactly what to do. For the average household, there is therefore a maximum of one plug-in battery.
I already have a P1 meter, can I still install the battery?
Yes! Our P1 meter comes with a built-in splitter. You can connect your existing P1 meter to it so you can continue using it.
How much do the Plug-in battery and extensions cost?
The master battery costs €999, and with our payback guarantee, you're guaranteed to recoup your investment within 4 years. Each expansion unit costs €750. All prices include VAT, and we'll help you receive a VAT refund.
How does the VAT refund work?
With our dynamic energy contract combined with the NextEnergy Payback Battery, you can also store power and feed it back into the grid during peak and off-peak hours. This makes you a small business owner in electricity. You can therefore reclaim the VAT on your purchase. Depending on your purchase, you can save up to €462.
Most households in the Netherlands will be eligible for a VAT refund. To be sure, we recommend taking the VAT test first .
This is how it works:
- Place your order for a battery ( tip : order the required number of extensions at the same time, as you can only reclaim VAT once);
- You sign a dynamic energy contract with us (under the same name). Already a customer? Then you can skip this step;
- Our partner, De Centrale, will process your VAT refund application for you. You'll pay a one-time fee of €90. You'll only pay this amount once the VAT refund has been successfully processed.
- You pay a one-off fee of €15 per kWh battery capacity (±€30 for the basic battery);
- You will receive the VAT refund after approximately 6 months.
Note: Have you previously claimed VAT back for solar panels? See if it's possible to transfer the battery and energy contract to a partner to qualify.
